Oak Grove High School was awarded a silver medal by US News & World Report for reaching the top 10 percent of all high schools in the U.S.

Out of over 22,000 public schools nationwide,Oak Grove High is currently ranked 2,572. OGHS also ranked fourth in the state, with only four other Mississippi schools receiving a silver medal. These rankings are based on a combination of graduation rates, college readiness and grades amongst students.

Oak Grove High saw a 92 percent increase in graduates, with the state average reaching 76 percent . OGHS also scored 20 percent higher in English and Math proficiency than the rest of Mississippi. Over 70 percent of students with disabilities were marked proficient or higher, and 89 percent of non-disabled students were deemed proficient.

Principal Helen Price responded to the award, stating, “Thank you for all you do, day in and day out, to help our students to be successful…you are making a difference.”
