Find a rock, paint a rock, hide a rock. Oak Grove and Hattiesburg Rocks is a Facebook group that paints and hides rocks.

Their idea is to decorate rocks and hide them in different places to brighten someones day when they find them. They created this treasure hunt to encourage people of all ages to get outside.

Once you find a rock, post a picture to their Facebook page and then re-hide the rock to keep the fun going! This geocaching activity is a great way to pass the time on a summer day.

“The rocks are super cool and are a great way to spread happiness in Hattiesburg,” said senior Anna Watts.

In hopes to keep the rock hunting interesting, the group paints seasonal rocks. They tend to hide the rocks in front of shops down highway 98, but they could be anywhere because of the rock hunters moving them.

“They were messy and colorful, and I think it has become my new favorite hobby,” said senior Brad Humphreys.
