The Oak Grove High School history department held the 22nd annual Veteran’s Day breakfast Thursday morning at Movie Star resteraunt. Over 100 veterans and family members attended the event to honor their service.

“I got to greet the veterans who came in, talk to them, and make them feel welcome,” senior, Beta member Deep Patel said.”It was amazing that even at an older age, they would rather carry their own plates.”

The Veteran’s Day breakfast is a school-wide effort, with participation from several clubs and organizations

Students from Beta Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council came together early that morning to serve the veterans.

For entertainment, the Centerstage! show choir preformed for the veterans and their family members. They sang the military branch songs as well as the national anthem and “America the Beautiful.”

To end the breakfast, the OGHS Yearbook presented a video of OGHS students saying “thank you” to the veterans for all that they had done.
